SARAS Received Expert Support on Enforcement and Investigation Issues as Part of a Project Funded by the European Union

In the framework of the project - Facility for the Implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement II – the staff of the Department of Auditing and Professional Education Supervision received expert assistance from Thomas Hansen, an international expert in the field.

Considering Georgia’s European perspective and the current situation, it is important to establish and implement EU regulations/practices at the local level. Accordingly, during the meetings, the international expert helped SARAS staff to raise awareness on the introduction of best practices in the direction of enforcement and investigation in audit and to identify the necessary changes in the legislation.

In addition, an action plan has been developed which is of great value to SARAS in terms of initiating and implementing legislative changes. Given the fact that SARAS is working intensively on the gradual approximation of legislation in the framework of the Association Agreement with the European Union, it is important to improve the legal basis for the the relevant matters.
