The first CSR Stakeholder Forum in Georgia was established in 2022, signed by around 50 representatives from the private, civil and public sectors.
The Forum is a unique platform for dialogue and cooperation between different sectors on issues of state policy and practice related to CSR. Regular working meetings are held within the framework of the Forum, focusing on the development and effective implementation of state policy on CSR.
This was the second working meeting of the Forum, the purpose of which was to discuss the initial document of recommendations for the state policy framework to promote CSR.
The mentioned document was prepared by a working group of experts. As the implementation of corporate social responsibility is impossible without the cooperation and coordination of stakeholders, including the state, private and civil sectors, SARAS continues its active cooperation in the framework of the Forum. The recommendations made at the meeting and reflected in the document will help state, private and civil sector organizations to implement corporate social responsibility.
It is noteworthy that Georgia follows the EU Directives on corporate sustainability reporting. Among the initiatives implemented in Georgia, it is important to note the submission of management reports required by the Law of Georgia on Accounting, Reporting and Auditing, in relation to which SARAS will adopt further legislative amendments to comply with CSRD requirements.
The introduction of corporate social responsibility and the preparation of relevant reports are important for the purpose of sustainability and effectiveness of business activities, and the reduction of environmental impact.
