Representatives of SARAS attended the IFRS Foundation’s annual conference

IFRS Foundation held the World Standard-setters Conference in London on 26-27 September. Representatives of SARAS also attended the conference which is held annually.

The conference aimed at reviewing IFRS Foundation’s current projects and its work plan. Attendees were given the opportunity to personally hear from the IASB members about the news related to the field regarding proposed amendments to the IFRS and IFRS for SMEs. In addition, the audience became familiar with the ways of participating in the standard-setting process.

SARAS is always actively involved in the current developments of the field in order to inform the public of proposed plans and amendments in a timely manner. SARAS holds meetings annually regarding the IFRS news with a speaker invited from IFRS Foundation. We would like to inform you that this conference will be held in December 2022, too, where interested persons will become familiar with the most recent issues.

We would also like to remind you that SARAS translates IFRS and amendments to IFRS annually. It is noteworthy that in 2021-2022, Georgia was the first among the countries that translated and adopted the edition of the Blue Book.
