The virtual event was held concerning ESG issues

On May 21, IFC and the National Bank of Georgia, with the support of SECO, held a joint virtual event on: ESG issues.

  
The event was held with the participation of the government, regulatory bodies, private sector, companies and financial institutions.

It was aimed to overview current corporate governance and ESG regulatory environment by stakeholders. In addition, within the event, a discussion was held on the opportunities and challenges for the development of sustainable financing products in Georgia.  

The representative of SARAS participated in the event and delivered a speech. In particular, he talked about international initiatives related to sustainability reporting, namely the plans to develop new EU directive and relevant standard by the IFRS Foundation, as well as Georgia’s possible involvement.   

SARAS will cover the ongoing processes in the above-mentioned direction.
