On the initiative of SARAS, the program continues for the second year. The project aims to enhance the qualification of accountants, financial specialists of the small and medium-sized business sector and other interested parties.
The trainings are held by trainers trained with the support of USAID’s G4G project and the World Bank, using the Training Material developed under the license agreement with IFRS Foundation.
We would like to remind you that in 2019 up to 1000 people were trained within the frames of the program. According to the feedback of participants, as well as the quality of financial statements, IFRS for SMEs training program was considered as successful. Accordingly, with the funding of the World Bank and the involvement of professional organizations and business associations, the project was also implemented in 2020. Due to the circumstances caused by the pandemic, participation was lower this year reaching up to 400 people.
It is noteworthy, that online learning was no less effective. Since enhancing the qualification of the representatives of professional field is one of the key pre-conditions to successfully implement corporate transparency reform, the project will continue in the future. SARAS hopes that in 2021 much more candidates will apply and the donors will traditionally continue supporting the project.
Learning materials, translated into Georgian, are placed on the SARAS webpage. They are available to all interested parties.
