On May 7, 2020 a virtual seminar – Comprehensive Review of the IFRS for SMEs: STAREP’s Countries Response - was organized by the WB’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) for the representatives of STAREP’s countries. Georgian IFRS for SMEs trainers and other representatives of the profession joined the meeting.
The purpose of this session was to discuss the objective and the structure of the recently announced comprehensive review and request of information by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on IFRS for SMEs. Participants could discuss their views and ask questions.
SARAS actively participates in this process and cooperates with all interested parties, including professional organizations, the Reform Support Foundation, IFRS for SMEs trainers, and business associations. This aims at developing comments that will be submitted to IASB on behalf of Georgia.
It is expected that the second webinar will discuss the collected feedback from participating countries.
