On December 10, representatives of SARAS attended an awareness meeting organized by the Accountants Club “FORUM” at the European University. Up to 100 accountants from the third and fourth category entities attended the event.
The key purpose of the meeting was to communicate information about ongoing accounting reform progress and benefits, concerns regarding the implementation of specific requirements of the simplified financial reporting standard for the fourth category entities, as well as an upgraded system for submitting statements. An emphasis was made on the recent amendment to the accounting law, upon which reporting deadline for the fourth category entities has been postponed. Most part of the meeting was devoted to answering the questions from the attendees.
Within the framework of the meeting, the self-learning manuals developed with the support of the UK Good Governance Fund and published by the World Bank financing were distributed.
