The one-year grant program for promoting the implementation of IFRS for SMEs intended for second and third category enterprises, initiated by the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision of the Ministry of Finance and carried out within the scope of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project "Governing for Growth" (G4G), is almost implemented.
Within the scope of the project, in October 2018 there were conducted the IFRS for SMEs training courses for 30 English-speaking trainers, led by Mr. Michael Wells, Independent Accountancy Education and Training Consultant.
In December of the same year, 58 Georgian-speaking trainers were trained in IFRS for SMEs within the same program; among them 14 were representatives from the different regions of Georgia.
Within the project, there were developed the training and presentation materials tailored to the Georgian context, which are published on the SARAS webpage and are available to any interested party. Please see the link.
Within the same project, the pilot training was conducted for the representatives of 100 third-category enterprises.
At the same time, the translation of 35 training modules of the IFRS for SMEs developed by the IFRS Foundation has been completed. They’ll be posted on the SARAS webpage in the nearest future.
