On March 22, the Kick-off Event of the EU funded new Twinning Project “Enhancing Accounting and Audit Quality in Georgia " was held.
The technical assistance aims to enhance accounting, reporting and audit quality in Georgia, which will be achieved through capacity building of the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision (SARAS) of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the convergence of the Georgian legislation with the relevant EU legislation by full-fledged approximation. The Project Implementing Partner Country is Greece.
The opening speeches were made by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, the Ambassador of Greece, the representatives of EU Delegation, the Supervision Council of the Accounting and Audit Standards of Greece and the International and European Economics Law Center.
The project leaders from the Georgian and Greek sides introduced their future goals and objectives.
The event was attended by the representatives of the diplomatic corps, EU Delegation, other donor organizations, academic sectors, professional organizations and business associations.
The Project progress and achievements will be subject to periodic media coverage.
