A representative of the Service was invited to share Georgia experience on the issues of the Auditors' Registry with the Auditors` Chamber of Ukraine, being responsible for maintaining the relevant register in Ukraine. The visit was conducted within the regional program of the World Bank for Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership (STAREP). Board members of the newly established public oversight body of Ukraine participated in selected meetings. Within the framework of the visit, the agencies of two countries introduced the existing challenges and experiences to each other. The Service representative shared the experience of the auditors’ registry, the survey of the best practices of the world, the first steps for development of the Service web site and the registry process to the Ukrainian side. The presentation generally addressed the disclosed information in the register of the auditors/audit firms enacted in accordance with the requirements of the Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Law of Georgia developed on the base of the EU Directives, also its peculiarities and importance, administration process and future plans for development in this direction.
The final events, which were held at the Audit Chamber of Ukraine and at the World Bank's Kiev office, were dedicated to reviewing the issues raised by the audience.
At the meetings, the World Bank representatives noted that Georgia's experience in the field of registry is one of the leading ones in the region.
