National initiatives for improving the quality of education in accounting and audit field

On March 23, 2018, the World Bank organized the next educational event which was attened by representatives from SARAS, professional accountancy organizations and universities. The event was held within the framework of STAREP (Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership) program. It aimed to develop a strategic plan for improving the quality of education in accounting and audit field.  

STAREP is a regional project of the World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR). The project aims to create an environment with transparent industry policy for corporate reporting and to form the efficient institutional framework in EU eastern partnership countries. Within the STAREP, members of EduCoP are working together to modernize the education and develop plans for future actions.

The  participants discussed alternative ways for education quality improvement and came up with the particular plan for future actions. The working group composed of all interested parties will be formed to implement this plan. The World Bank and other participant parties agreed to coordinate further working meetings. The World Bank will hold next event on March 29, 2018.
