On April 18, the representatives of SARAS met with the members of the Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Board. At the meeting, the representatives of SARAS presented to the updated composition of the Board the current challenges and strategic objectives within the reporting and auditing reform.
In particular, the representatives of SARAS informed the members of the Board about issues such as dynamic approximation with European legislation, improving reporting and qualitative indicators, digital transformation of reporting (XBRL), ensuring the involvement of the profession in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, transition to the new system of qualitative evaluation of auditors, etc.
It should be noted that in March this year, by Order of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mirza Gelashvili, the Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, was appointed as the Chairman of the Board and Giorgi Tabuashvili, the First Deputy Head of the State Insurance Supervision Service of Georgia, as a new member. SARAS welcomes the updated composition of the Board and wishes them a fruitful cooperation. SARAS would also like to thank the previous Chairman of the Board, Mr Tsotne Kavlashvili, and member, Mr Irakli Tutarashvili, for their work.
