IFIAR’s 15th inspection workshop was held virtually

On March 23-25, 2021, IFIAR’s 15th inspection workshop was held. The representatives of SARAS attended the event along with other member countries. 

IFIAR’s inspection workshops are prepared and led annually for member countries by the Inspection Workshops Working Group. The development and organization of a robust and sustainable inspection workshop model is central to IFIAR’s aim to enhance investor protection by improving audit quality. With member countries from all continents, IFIAR is in a unique position to provide a forum through the inspection workshops for independent audit regulators to meet and discuss best practices and exchange experience. This information sharing and identification of better practices in inspecting audit firms are promoting greater consistency across regulators. 

This year, the following topics were discussed: Fraud considerations, Group Audit, new Quality Management Standards; the Anticipated impact of Covid-19 on several IFRS Standard sections was also the subject of review, as well as the potential impact of the pandemic on quality management topics at audit firms.
