Training for IFRS for SMEs’s English-speaking trainers

On the initiative of SARAS, within the USAID project - “G4G” (Governing for Growth), from July 27, 2018, the tender winner Company implements one-year granting program aiming to enhance qualification of Georgian-speaking trainers and raise awareness regarding IFRS for SMEs throughout Georgia.

Within the frames of the program, on October 8-12, 2018, training for English-speaking trainers of IFRS for SMEs was held.  Representatives of universities and professional institutions, as well as local and international audit firms and privet sector participated in the training.

Michael wells - the international consultant of accountancy education and training, selected by the World Bank within the СFRR project - hosted the training. Michael wells has a big experience in leading such training in similar countries.

Within the program, it is planned to train Georgian-speaking trainers throughout Georgia by retrained trainers. In turn, they will train people working in the industry.

At the same time, training material of IFRS for SMEs material is being translated and adapted to the national environment and conditions. The noted material will be available for all interested parties.

Events conducted and developed material will assist small and medium-sized companies in preparation of financial statements in accordance with the international standards. This will simplify their relationship with the financial sector and expand access to finances.
