SARAS held another presentation aiming to raise IFRS for SMEs awareness

The Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision Subdivision of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia organized the event aiming to raise awareness regarding IFRS for SMEs on January 25, 2017.  Small and medium-sized business representatives and the dean of the Economics and Business faculty of the Sokhumi State University attended the event.

Through the presentation, representatives of the SARAS and GSMEA discussed the changes in the legislation, nature of IFRS for SMEs and advantages of the standard application. The presentation also covered the following topics: the importance and benefits of ongoing accounting reform, the main goals of the Service and significant news. The question and answer session followed the presentation and covered important for the audience issues.

The Service will organize similar presentations aiming to raise awareness regarding IFRS for SMEs in the near future. The Service is ready to cooperate with all interested parties in this direction.
