The representatives of the SARAS attended the Workshop organized by the World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) in Vienna, titled `Advancing in Accounting & Auditing Regulation: Improving Compliance through Better Enforcement and Adequate Requirements for Non-Financial Reporting` on October 24-25, 2017. Experts of World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform, delegations from member countries of regional projects (STAREP, EU-REPARIS), representatives of the eastern Europe countries, audit regulatory authorities of Germany and invited experts attended the Workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to discuss the role and function of audit oversight, principles of the non-financial reporting, collaboration between EU oversight bodies, the current condition of the reform in STAREP project member countries. The workshop provided participants with practical examples of oversight functions from various oversight bodies of different countries, such as audit regulation structure of Serbia and implementation of quality review function in Germany.
Participants had opportunity to share and learn from each other’s experiences. They were also able to interact with the various experts and received significant advices, which may support the successful implementation of the accounting reforms and strengthen the audit supervision field.
