Within the framework of STAREP (Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership) program, the arrangement organized by CFRR (The World Bank Centre for Financial Reporting Reform) was held on 30-31 May, 2017, Vienna. The two-day arrangement aimed to discuss the importance of implementing high quality International Education Standards and challenges and opportunities faced by the medium-sized practices (SMPs).
The arrangement was attended by the representatives of the Service, Georgian professional organizations and universities. The organizers of the event and other speakers noted the importance of implementing high quality International Education Standards to increase the trust in society towards profession.
In the frames of forum, the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) president, Committee Members and the representatives of the Centre for Financial Reporting Reform discussed the challenges and opportunities faced by the medium-sized practices. They also presented the results of the research of international firms and introduced to the audience their recommendations for medium-sized practices.
The speakers noted the importance of the professional ethics, as the value, sharing and protection of which will held medium-sized practices to keep existing clients and attract new ones.
